This program is published to give HMM-365 Vietnam squadron members an idea of what is going to happen, what to expect, and what more needs to be done, so you all don't mill around like a bunch of civilians.
When you get to the gate at either MCAS New River or MCB Camp Lejeune, identify yourself at the gate. They will have a list of all possible attendees and will allow you access to the bases.
14 January 2030 hrs - informal get-together (go to the Lejeune Inn and call one of the contact numbers (below). The main contacts here will be McKee and Saunders)
15 January 0930 hrs - meet at the UH-34D for photos and possible fly around (at the HMM-365 Area) The main contacts here will be Bloomfield and Weiss. 1130 hrs - HMM-365 Vietnam Lunch and Reunion at the MCAS New River Officers Club. The main contact here is Androlevich. 1400 hrs - HMM-365 Change of Command at the HMM-365 Area HMM-365/VMM-365 Designation Changeover Ceremony at the VMM-365 Area Reception at the MCAS New River Officers Club HMM-365 Vietnam Dinner (location to be announced later) The main contact here will be Androlevich
This should be the final edition of info needed for those attending.

According to Bob Androlevich, the ceremony will be held outside but can be moved in in case of inclement weather. The temperature during the day has been the mid-40s, dropping into the mid-30s at night.
My suggestion is to dress according to the weather and appropriately according to the situation (dress blues and tennis shoes?). I'm not one to set the fashion standard but I'm wearing slacks, shirt, and leather jacket and will bring along a tie just in case. Really, I don't think a tie is necessary but they don't take up too much room in the seabag.

I thought it over - I think that I will wear a tie after all.

About the informal get-togther the night of 14 January:
We're using this as a rallying point for everyone because we're coming in from all points of the county and at different times. There seems to be a consensus that we gather at the Lejeune Inn and check with George McKee. He'll be there before most of us and he'll direct us to the Sports Bar where we can sit around to eat, drink, and shoot the s--t.
If you have any questions or get lost, just call the desk at the Lejeune Inn and ask for George.

The weather forecast for 1/14-16/2009 shows that the temperature will dip below freezing (down to 18 deg F) at night and windy on the 16th.
Since the ceremony will be held outdoors (unless it rains, then it'll be moved into the hangar) you all might consider wearing warm clothing for the ceremony.
Most of the guys that I've talked to are going to be wearing sports coats or leather jackets, shirt and tie, and slacks. I'm also going to bring an overcoat for the cold since I've gotten to like the warm temps of Africa and don't do good in cold climes any more.

Bob Androlevich says that the Mai Tai Restaurant in Jacksonville is a good place for our 1/15/09 dinner. He says the buffet is great (all you can eat Chinese food).
Perhaps we can come to a consensus when we meet at Lejeune on the night of the 14th.
Got my bags. Got my reservations. Spent each dime I could afford. Like a child in wild anticipation Long to hear that "All aboard"

Getting Through the Gate
The gate guards should have a list of attendees. If you are not on the list and you do not have military ID, then you need to let me or Bob Androlevich know so that we relay your name to HMM-365 Operations.
Any of the HMM-365 Vietnam attendees can verify if you are with our group so if you still are not on the list when you get to the gate ask the guard to call HMM-365 Ops and they can get hold of one of us.
